Bioremediation is based upon a couple different things when it comes down to
legislature. Its guidelines are ecological risks and assessments of health where
there are no legislated
standards or where standards are advisory. This is
often used in context by the acronym PRG (preliminary remediation
goals). In the
United States, EPA Region 9 is the name of the holder of the most
comprehensive set of PRG's. No matter what the condition, an assessment
of the site must be made before anything else commences. There is nobody
to pay if something were to wrong because of an overlooked detail in the
procedure.
